I’m Paul Regan. I paint, mentor and teach from my studio in Whetstone, North London. As a painter, I’m a member of the Royal Watercolour Society, exhibiting mostly in London. As a mentor, I founded Studio Fridays in 2016 and continue to support new and emerging artists each week, and as a teacher, after running Insight School of Art for 23 years, I now run a couple of weekly classes for adults independently.
I share some of the things I’ve learnt about art and art education in the blog and learning sections of this website. If you sign up for newsletters, you’ll be first to know when they have been updated.
Painter
I’m interested in the relationship between photographs and memory, and paint to reconnect with the fragments of time on my photo stream. Feel free to contact me for a list of works available for purchase or to discuss exhibition opportunities.

Mentor
Studio Fridays are the weekly studio practice and mentoring days I run for new and emerging artists. I also hold small group mentoring sessions in person and over Zoom. In the short film below, Studio Fridays artists talk about how I have been able to help them move their practice forward.
Teacher
“All those years ago, during my first year at art school, I would arrive each morning not knowing what was in store for me, but ready to take part in whatever challenge had been planned. Then, at the end of the day, I would walk home, enriched with new skills and knowledge, exhausted but elated.
Those days proved to be some of the best learning experiences I would have, and became the catalyst for what I aim to provide every time I teach.”
Learning Resources
The learning resources on this site were produced by myself and Robert Verrill to share with students at Insight School of Art, and to spark ideas and conversations between teachers when lesson planning. The full archive will be gradually uploaded over the next few years.
