Plan your own art trail

If you’re visiting a city and looking for an afternoon of free art, using Google Maps is an easy way to plan your own gallery trail. Just search for ‘commercial art galleries in (name of city or area)’, check the opening times, then add stops to your route.

You’ll probably find that you enjoy some exhibitions more than others, some will be closed when they said they would be open, but then again you’ll probably drop into a few extra places you spot along the way. It’s all a part of the fun. Generally, where there’s a good concentration of commercial galleries, there’ll be plenty of cool design shops, cafes and bars too.
