In the week that Insight School of Art student, Hilary Vernon-Smith, heard that she has had work accepted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, there has been plenty more to celebrate too.
Ex-Insight student, and current studio assistant, Monica Brathwaite, has just graduated from her Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins, having produced this brilliant film for her end of year show. Next year she will be studying Fine Art at Lancaster University.
Three Insight students who are currently taking their A-Levels at school have all been offered places on prestigious art and design courses in London. Alexia Angelidis will be studying Fashion Design at Ravensbourne, Hannah Cohen will be taking a Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins and Eden Olsha will be taking a Foundation Course at Kingston University. Examples of their work are below. Huge congratulations to them all.
I also bumped into ex-student, Ivy Wang, on the train the other day. She had just graduated in ‘Special effects for film’, having previously studied on a foundation course. It was lovely to hear all about her success. An example of her work can be seen online here.
And some nice staff news; If you can get to the Mall Galleries between the 13th and 22nd of June, you will be able to see some new works by Insight teacher Mick Kirkbride who will be showing as part of this year’s New English Art Club exhibition.
